All, someone tried to steal my Z last night but thanks to a failing PTU they did not get too far. I found my car on the side of the road a couple miles away from my house. I am concerned that the thief may have vandalized my car when he was left on the side of the road and had to leave is prize behind. There is apparent damage but I am more concerned with damage done where it is less obvious and could be undetected by a standard dealer inspection for the insurance claim. One thing I noticed is that the brake fluid reservoir was empty and I remember making sure all fluids were ok a few weeks ago before I went on a business trip. I had not driven the car since because of the failling PTU. The reason I am asking is that from the way the car was stolen this thief was a professionals the ignition had no damage except that my key doesn't fit anymore and he managed to bypass the Nissan anti-theft mechanism by cutting the wire at the battery and bypassing the circuit using the fuse box. I think that he may have done damage in frustration and since he seemed very knowledgable of the '93 Z TT he may have been able to damage the car in a hidden way. What should I make sure the dealer looks at before he hands in the estimate? Any input is appreciated. J.F. (almost Z-Less) '93 TT
